Peiyang Chorus Wins Five Awards at the Huanglong Music Festival

On August 30, 2018, Huanglong Music Festival China concluded with the Peiyang Chorus from Tianjin University winning five awards including the two separate championships in the Ballad Group and the University Group categories. 

During the two-day competition, Peiyang Chorus brilliantly performed several musical pieces including Embracing Qin on the Boat at Night, Microcosmos, and Animal crackers. As well as the Peiyang Chorus winning the two championships with the highest scores Wen Yuchuan, the permanent conductor of the Peiyang Chorus, won the Best Conductor Award, his new musical piece Microcosmos won the Best New Works Award and the piano artistic director Xu Siqi won The Best Accompaniment Award. 

The Huanglong Music Festival, founded in 2016, is annually held in Zhangjiajie. In the past two years, about 100 thousand music lovers from all over the country have participated in this Festival. This year, hundreds of choral groups were attracted to the Huanglong Cave Scenic Spot and celebrated the Festival together.
