Two Wang Yuanyi

Among the newly admitted students, there are two students named Wang Yuanyi and two students named Zhang Nan, who have the same name and were born on the same day and who came to the same college on the same day, although they come from different provinces and had no previous connection in daily life or in their study.  

September 5, 2018 was the first day for new students to check in. Among the over 4900 undergraduate first year enrolments, there are two pairs of students who have identical names and birthdays. The two named Wang Yuanyi were both born on January 1, 2001. The male Wang, coming from Shandong Province, has been admitted into the School of Civil Engineering and will major in Hydraulic and Hydropower Engineering, while the female Wang comes from Hebei Province and has been admitted into the experimental class of humanities at the Qiushi Honors College. The two named Zhang Nan were both born on April 29, 2001. Coming from Henan Province, the male Zhang has been admitted into the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology and will major in Polymer Science and Engineering; the female Zhang, coming from Jiangxi Province, has been admitted into the experimental class of the Engineering course. 

The two Wang Yuanyis and their families met at the Peiyangyuan Campus in the afternoon. The two families said that the given name of "Yuanyi" originated from the date, January 1 when their children were born. But they didn't expect that they would meet a student who had the same name and the same birthday as their children in college. 

Speaking of the reason why they chose Tianjin University, both of Wang Yuanyi said that they like the university very much and their majors were also desirable. Although clear plans about their college life have not drawn out yet, they both hope they can work hard and have a colorful 4-year college life. 

When it comes to the following plans, the female Wang said that she hoped she could further her study after graduation, while the male Wang said he wished that he could read more books and make more friends in his spare time besides studying. 

"We hope we can make joint efforts and achieve progress together in college ", the two Wangs told the reporter.
