Law School Environmental Law Group Attends the 5th China-EU Conference

 Campus

Recently, the 5th China-EU Conference on Environmental Law was held at Ghent University in Belgium. Professor Zhang Jianwei and Dr. Tian Yiyao from the Environmental Law Group of Tianjin University Law School attended the meeting. At the Conference, environmental law scholars from the University of Groningen, Helsinki University, Birmingham University, Pace University, Utrecht University, Ghent University, Wuhan University, Ocean University of China, University of Macau and Tianjin University on the topics which involved “green law, climate change, carbon emissions trading, environmental taxation, natural resource protection and environmental crime, combined with their respective experiences in domestic law, EU law and international law” launched an in-depth discussions. The Environmental Law team also expressed their views at the meeting and received high praise from other international scholars. 

During the meeting, Professor Zhang Jianwei had a cordial talk with Dr. Lu Ke who is the Justice of the Constitutional Court of Belgium and the Professor of the Law School of Ghent University. Both sides had an in-depth exchange of views on the construction of environmental law subjects, cooperation and exchanges and student development and reached a number of consensuses. 

The 5th China-EU Conference on Environmental Law is organized by Wuhan University and the Law School of the University of Ghent, Belgium, and co-organized by the Chinese Journal of Environmental Law and the U4 University Network. The 5th China-EU Conference on Environmental Law is one of the highest level international conferences in the field of environmental law jointly organized by China and leading universities in major European countries. The conference was also the first time that the environmental law team of Tianjin University Law School demonstrated its academic views on the international stage.
