The China International Conference on Electricity Distribution (CICED) 2018 was held in Tianjin recently, the theme of which was “Smart Distribution and Low-Carbon Life”. The conference was jointly sponsored by the Chinese National Committee for International Conferences on Electricity Distribution (CIRED CNC), the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering (CSEE), the State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) and the International Council on Electricity Distribution (CIRED), hosted by Tianjin University, and together with the State Grid Tianjin Electric Power Company. IEEE PES, The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE) provided the conference with technical support.

CICED is a regional international conference of CIRED held every two years, and CICED2018 is the eighth iteration. Top-ranking specialists, scholars and engineering experts at home and abroad in power distribution system planning, design, construction, operation, management, equipment manufacturing, etc. presented interesting reports in the meeting. The conference, promoting green, intelligent and sustainable development of the global power supply technology, presented a grand international gathering of electrical technology to science and technology workers all over the world.
