Recently, the opening ceremony of the “Ocean Education College International Student Innovation Course Program” sponsored by the School of Marine Science and Technology of Tianjin University, was held Building 8. Faculty and students from universities in Indonesia participated in the opening ceremony. Yuan Yingjin, Vice President of Tianjin University, Zhai Jingsheng, Dean of the School of Marine Science and Technology, Ling Guowei, Party Secretary, He Liqian, Deputy Secretary, Vice Dean, Wang Jun and Gong Le, Director of the Marine Technology Department Zhang Anmin, faculty of Tianjin University International Cooperation and Exchange Office and faculty of the School of Marine and Technology attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was hosted by Ling Guowei.
Yuan Yingjin delivered a welcome speech. He first expressed his sincere welcome to teachers and students from Indonesian universities and stressed that this year marks the 15th anniversary of China-ASEAN's strategic partnership. It is also the fifth anniversary of President Xi Jinping's " Belt and Road" initiative. China and ASEAN are good neighbors, good friends and good partners, who are committed to the implementation of China-ASEAN higher education exchanges and cooperation. Taking the opportunity to promote intelligent marine development and construction, the School of Marine Science and Technology established the China-ASEAN Smart Ocean Center and the China-Indonesia Smart Ocean Center, and held the first student innovation course program, which provided practical cooperation between China and ASEAN universities. The platform actively promotes the popularization and dissemination of marine science and technology and culture in China and ASEAN, and promotes fruitful cooperation in personnel training, scientific research, and cultural exchanges.
Later, Gong Le introduced Tianjin University and the School of Marine Science and Technology to the students. Zhang Anmin gave a detailed introduction about the course schedule of the training program.
After the opening ceremony, the participants visited the Feng Jicai Research Institute and the Tianjin University History Museum to experience the charm of China's intangible cultural heritage and the long history of Tianjin University.
In order to promote the creation of the third pillar of China-ASEAN relations, humanities exchanges and cooperation, the School of Marine Science and Technology will carry out the China-ASEAN higher education exchanges and cooperation, and offer an Ocean Education College International Student Innovation Course Program. This program invited more than ten teachers and students from Indonesian universities to come to the school for a 12-day innovative course training program. The program will have three ocean cognition courses, five multi-disciplinary marine frontier technical theories and experimental courses and practicing in maritime institutions, from shallow to deep, and all-round shaping to give students a new type of smart ocean recognition. The knowledge will enable Indonesian students to understand the advanced ocean technology and development direction in China and inspire students from along the “Belt and Road” countries to think about the development of smart oceans, enhance the influence and penetration of China's marine culture, and help the Belt and Road Construction.
