The first Talent Recruitment and Project Matchmaking Event for Innovation and Development, Henan, China was held on October 27 at Zhengzhou International Conference and Exhibition Center (ZZICEC). The theme was “Attracting talent to build a better Central Plains”.
The event was co-sponsored by the CPC Henan Provincial Committee, the People's Government of Henan Province and the Western Returned Scholars Association (WRSA).
Over 1,300 delegations attended the event, including senior administration officials of Henan Province and the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, domestic and overseas experts, and leaders of world-famous universities from home and abroad. Tianjin University’s (TJU) Party Secretary Li Jiajun took part in this event and delivered a speech at the Kaifeng parallel session.
On behalf of the CPC Henan Provincial Committee and the Government, Huo Jinhua, Vice Governor of Henan Province, met with the delegations. She expressed her gratitude to TJU for its long-term contribution to the development and talent cultivation of Henan Province. She then highlighted the blueprint for future development, recent progress and the Government’s determination to cultivate top-line talent.
Tianjin University Party Secretary, Li outlined the history of TJU and the development of the Central Plains Advanced Technology Research Institute.
According to Li, TJU would combine its efforts to become a world-class university, and construct world-class disciplines, with the economic growth of the Central Plains. TJU and the Government of Henan Province will take advantage of each other’s strengths and endeavor to support the transformation and upgrading of regional industries with talented people and intelligent technology, so as to better serve social development.
TJU Party Secretary, Li spoke on behalf of all the guests at the Kaifeng parallel session. He reviewed the history of the innovation cooperation between TJU and Kaifeng city, and pointed out that during its 123-year history, TJU has been committed to China’s development by boosting education, and that patriotism has always been the soul of its efforts to cultivate talented people. In addition, keeping pace with international academic frontiers and the significant development demands of China have always been emphasized in TJU’s scientific and technological research, which has brought about industrial development and major scientific achievements. TJU will continue to improve its ability to serve the economic growth of the Central Plains and the cultivate quality talent with the help of the Central Plains Advanced Technology Research Institute as an important platform for technological cooperation. Li said that he really enjoyed his time in Kaifeng, a city of profound culture and was impressed by the officials’ eagerness to unearth talented people, technological innovation and industrial transformation. According to Li, TJU will further cooperate with Henan Province to develop the Institute.
Later, Secretary Li and Zhang Zhenyu, Vice Chairperson of the Henan Provincial People's Political Consultative Conference, inaugurated the Central Plains Advanced Technology Research Institute.
