In order to further develop translation major, promote the experience exchanges among foreign language teachers of all Tianjin's universities, and enhance the cooperation between industry, academia and research, College of Foreign Languages and Literature of Tianjin University , Beijing Service Base of Culture, Trade and Language, Tianjin Kujing technology and trade co. ltd jointly held the " 2018 Practice Exchange Meeting about Translation Teaching and Intelligent Teaching" on November 1st. Nearly 30 teachers teaching foreign languages in Tianjin's universities participated in this meeting. On the theme of “new practice model of translation teaching and intelligent teaching ", they explored the optimal teaching mode ——combining practice and theory, brought up new ideas and optimized courses arrangements and provided practical support and guidance for teaching research.
In the speech delivered by Lixu, head of the College of Foreign Languages and Literature of Tianjin University, he extended his welcome to present teachers, discussed ways to better develop foreign languages and shared experience of professional master's practical teaching. He said that universities should provide teachers with a good working environment, supply students with a high-quality learning environment, build a broad platform for students to know the needs of society, create a strong cultural atmosphere, and promote the development of education in all aspects.
Wangsheng, General Manager of Tianjin Kujing technology and trade co. ltd, gave a report titled "The Role of "Internet +" Technology in Intelligent Teaching and the Achievement of Teaching Objectives Based on Process"; Li Jianxun, Secretary General of Beijing Service Base of Culture, Trade and Language introduced language service base, and the new mode of cooperation between industry, academia and research in interpretation and translation teaching; Zhengjun, executive director and general manager of Speexx Greater China, gave a lecture entitled "Learning and Teaching of Foreign Languages Driven by Big Data Technology" . Three guests introduced lots of experience and models of translation teaching and intelligent teaching, and answered questions from present teachers.
Lixu, Wangsheng and Li Jianxun, representatives of College of Foreign Languages and Literature of Tianjin University , Beijing Service Base of Culture, Trade and Language, Tianjin Kujing technology and trade co. ltd respectively, signed a cooperation agreement on industry, academia and research, and unveiled a translation teaching research and practice base built by the three parties.
During the exchange meeting, teachers who are responsible for foreign language subjects in all Tianjin's universities shared their teaching experience and discussed the intelligent teaching model under the "Internet +".
After the meeting, guests visited simultaneous interpretation laboratory, advanced speech room, and multi-function language room to gain an in-depth understanding about SDL Trados——computer-assisted translation, Speexx——mixed foreign language learning system, and so on.
