On the morning of October 30th, the Foreign Students Orientation of the School of Civil Engineering was held in the Conference Room, No.38 Building, Peiyang Campus. Prof. Jiang Mingjing, vice dean for international affairs, Prof. Shi Yanchao, vice dean for Graduates admission, Prof. Zhao Qiuhong , dean assistant and Prof. Zhang Jinyuan, head of Department of Civil Engineering attended the orientation. Several supervisors and more than 20 new foreign postgraduate students in English program joined. The meeting was hosted by Prof. Zhao Qiuhong.

First of all, Prof. Jiang Mingjing gave a welcome speech. At the same time, he emphasized students should obey the advisor's arrangement, actively and regularly meet with their advisor to report the research progress, and take the theses and graduation issues seriously, etc. Then, Prof. Zhang Jinyuan expressed his ardent expectations for the new foreign students.

Next, Prof. Zhao Qiuhong explained Academic Standards for Postgraduate Students in the English Program at School of Civil Engineering. From the aspects of academic paper publication, thesis writing, scientific research work arrangement, regular communication with advisor, this academic standard made a standard requirement for various academic behaviors of foreign postgraduate students during their study. Finally, the students had a lively discussion with the teachers about the academic and life problems they encountered.
