The Academic Salon for Young Scholars in the Research Field of “Explosion Resistance and Protection of Engineering Structures” organized by the School of Civil Engineering was held in 43rd building of Peiyang campus on November 13, 2018.

The Academic Salon was jointly organized by the Key Laboratory of Coast Civil Structural Safety of the Ministry of Education, and the Department of Civil Engineering. Among young scholars who were invited to take part in this academic workshop were professor Jun Yu from Hohai University, professor Hao Wu from Tongji University, professor Li Chen from Southeast University, professor Liu Jin from Beijing University of Technology, professor Kai Qian from Guangxi University, and senior engineer Haishan Guo who is also a deputy general manager and chief engineer of China Construction Technology Group Co., Ltd. Professor Qinghua Han, dean of School of Civil Engineering, professor Yanchao Shi, vice dean of School of Civil Engineering ,professor Yifei Hao, professor Zhenning Ba and more than 40 graduate students attended this salon.

Professor Jun Yu from Hohai University presented his research “Performance Study of Progressive Collapse Resistance of Reinforced Concrete Structures”.

Professor Hao Wu from Tongji University made a presentation on “Experimental and Numerical Simulation Study on Impact/Explosion resistant performance of UHPCC-FST”.

Professor Li Chen from Southeast University presented his research “Study on the Load Effect of Gas Explosion and Damages of Structures”.

Professor Liu Jin from Beijing University of Technology made a presentation on “Research on Dynamic Size Effect of Concrete Materials”.

Professor Kai Qian from Guangxi University presented his research “Study on Progressive Collapse Resistance of Prefabricated Concrete Structures”.

Chief engineer of China Construction Technology Group Co., Ltd., Haishan Guo made a talk on “Demonstration and Study on Prefabricated Prestressed Rapid Assembly Frame System”.

The research group of Tianjin University working on explosion resistance and protection of engineering structures introduced the forthcoming test scheme for progressive collapse resistance of prefabricated structures.
