The Signing and Unveiling Ceremony of the Medical Treatment Collaboration between the TJU Hospital and the Tianjin First Central Hospital’s Chest Pain Center

On November 19, the signing and unveiling ceremony was held at the TJU Hospital commemorating the establishment of a Medical Alliance; a collaborative project of the Chest Pain Center of the Tianjin First Central Hospital and the Tianjin University Hospital (TJU Hospital).

Attendees of the event included Zhao Cuiyun, Party Secretary of the TJU Affiliated Primary School, Kindergarten and Hospital; Tang Zhaohe, Deputy Director of the Medical Administration of Tianjin First Central Hospital; Lu Chengzhi, Director of the Chest Pain Center of the Tianjin First Central Hospital; and leaders of relevant TJU offices.

Before the ceremony, Zhang Lixin, Assistant to the President of Tianjin University met with the guests from the Tianjin First Central Hospital. He hoped that a life-saving channel could be built by establishing a complete first aid system for patients with chest pain. Zhang Lixin indicated that the strategic cooperation between the two sides was very forward-looking, composed of both a long-term view and based in the present, and that the establishment of Medical Alliance is of vital importance. The university will dedicate its resources to the two hospitals in this project, looking forward to even more comprehensive and systematic cooperation in the future, seeking mutual benefits and common development, benefitting a great number of teachers and students and the local community.

In his speech, Zhao Cuiyun said that the upcoming cooperation marked a new stage of mutual help and common development for both hospitals. The comprehensive strength of the TJU Hospital is expected to be further enhanced with the technical support and assistance of the excellent medical technology, comprehensive services and experienced experts of the Tianjin First Central Hospital Chest Pain Center. The establishment of Medical Alliance will provide better, high quality medical service for nearly 40,000 teachers, students and staff of Tianjin University.

Tang Zhaohe said that the Chest Pain Center enabled the construction of the Medical Alliance which would improve the efficiency of emergency services and increase the hope of survival for patients with chest pain. On behalf of the Tianjin First Central Hospital Chest Pain Center, Tang expressed his desire for cooperation and his vision of further developed discipline construction and talent training with the help of Tianjin University. Tang said that together with the TJU Hospital, they would make great efforts to better help teachers and students of TJU to maintain health.

Afterwards, a cooperative agreement for the Medical Alliance was signed by both parties. Zhao Cuiyun and Tang Zhaohe unveiled the plaque for the Medical Alliance.

Later, on November 20, the TJU Hospital offered free medical treatment on the "Myocardial Infarction Treatment Day of China". Well-known experts in cardiology from Tianjin First Central Hospital, including Director Liu Shukun, Deputy Director Xu Jianqiang and chief physician Zhang Jin, offered pro bono medical consultation to over 80 patients. The TJU Hospital plans to strengthen the collaboration with the Chest Pain Center to arrange expert consultations to meet the needs of patients.

It is reported that the Chest Pain Center of Tianjin First Central Hospital was rated by the China Chest Pain Center with excellent performance, becoming one of the first batch of demonstration chest pain centers in China. The TJU Hospital and Tianjin First Central Hospital have reached a consensus on the construction, collaboration, development, and two-way transfer treatment of chest pain centers, and promised to provide timely, rapid, proper and efficient diagnosis and treatment for ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction patients and to actually build an emergency channel to save patients with acute myocardial infarction: enabling the hospital be informed before the patient arrives, an electrocardiogram can be done in the ambulance and sent to a resident instantly.  If the patient is transferred to Tianjin First Central Hospital, examinations can be directly carried out without registration and CCU, saving valuable time of early treatment.
