On Nov 23, School of Foreign Languages and Literature held several lectures on A&HCI database application, with an introduction of project cultivation, research reward and other policies by Xu Yiran, manager of Clarivate Analytics, and Liu Junqing from Tianjin University Office of Humanities and Social Science, in order to build a strong atmosphere of scientific research and service teachers and students. Li Xu, the Dean of the School of Foreign Languages and Literature, Chen Dazhong, Wang Lisong and Liu Jiaji, the Deputy Deans, and over 100 representatives from the faculty and students attended the lecture. Wang Lisong presided the activity.
Li Xu said, since TJU put forward the “invigorating arts” development concept aiming at backing liberal arts’ advancement, teachers were supposed to make full use of the policies and platforms offered by the university to propel scientific research development.
On behalf of School of Literature, Wang Lisong extended his gratitude to the guests. TJU is going to hold the thirty-day Third Conference on Science and Technology to deepen the “Double First-Class” development, according to Wang. Also, he hoped to assist in the scientific research through the A&HCI database application lecture before the Conference.
In the report themed “Science of Humanities and Arts from International Perspective: Innovative Scientific Research by means of Web of Science”, Xu Yiran made a presentation of how to access scientific information and high-quality literature, obtain more effective information from only one piece of literature, regularly track related literature, manage literature efficiently and selecting periodicals, which provided a brand new research perspective for teachers and students.
From the three respects of a brief introduction of development, research system and official support policies, Liu Junqing detailed the university’s research system and policies of humanities and social science. Meanwhile, he shared some experience on project cultivation and research reward, encouraging teachers to be dedicated in scientific research.
By giving a lecture on database application and research policies elaboration, it is conducive to, of scientific research, improving the faculty and students' understanding, helping them master the necessary methods, enhancing their ability, improving the School and the University’s constant development, which lastly adds momentum to the “Double First-Class” development of TJU.
