Major projects of the National Social Science Fund of China approved

Recently, the major projects of the National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFG) in 2018 were announced. “Research on Innovation and Application of Intelligent Supply Chain", hosted by Professor Wei-hua Liu in College of Management and Economics has been approved. This is the first approved major project of the National Social Science Fund of China for the Department of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, College of Management and Economics, Tianjin University.

“Research on Innovation and Application of Intelligent Supply Chain" focuses on the following aspects: the analysis of operation mechanism of Intelligent Supply Chain and the development status of China's Intelligent Supply Chain, innovative technology management and organizational management, innovative target model and path, typical application and domestic and foreign experience for reference, promotion strategy and policy system, etc. The purpose is to speed up the innovation and application of the intelligent supply chain by revealing the typical mode, path and application experience of the innovation of the intelligent supply chain, which can provide important references for Chinese enterprises to carry out multi-level supply chain innovation and application practice, effectively support the implementation of a series of major national development strategies, and promote high quality development of economy and society.

Among the funding system of the NSSFC, major project of the NSSFC is the most authoritative project category with the highest level and the largest funding. To a certain extent, the research results of this project represent the highest level of national social science research, and it is one of the important indicators to measure the development level and scientific research ability of philosophy and social sciences in colleges and universities. The progress made in this annual major project of the NSSFC reflects the good momentum of the research on major projects by CoME and is of great significance to university’s prosperity and development of humanities and social sciences.

It is reported that Professor Bo Li of the Department of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Professor Guo-fang Nan of the Institute of System Engineering and the responsible persons of China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, Jingdong Group and Development Research Center of the State Council participated in the joint declaration. With the joint efforts of various units, the NSSFC declaration was successfully approved.

Wei-hua Liu, Professor of Department of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Tianjin University, is a doctoral supervisor, who is also the vice president of China Society of Logistics, member of Logistics Management and Engineering Teaching Steering Committee of Ministry of Education, and head of Youth Working Group, logistics expert of China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing, and member of Logistics of Standardization Administration of China. Special Expert of China Urban Logistics Research Center, invited expert of China Logistics Times, deputy secretary general for SSOM Branch of Operational Research Society of China, director of BOM Branch of China Operational Research Society, member of Group Standards Committee of China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, member of Tianjin Green Supply Chain Standardization Committee, executive director of Sustainable Operations and Management Branch of Systems Engineering Society of China(SESC), expert in logistics and circulation of China Development Bank.

Professor Liu Weihua mainly studies in service supply chain management, logistics service innovation, behavior operation and sustainable management. In recent years, In recent years, he has published more than 40 SCI/SSCI search papers in the international high-level academic journals of logistics and supply chain management as the first author, and published 10 monographs such as Service Supply Chain Management, Research on Modern Logistics Service System and Logistics Service Operation and Innovation. He presided over 3 NFSC(National Natural Science Foundation of China) projects, 2 projects of the Humanities and Social Sciences Foundation of the Ministry of Education, and 12 provincial and ministerial-level vertical projects including sub-projects in the National Science and Technology Pillar Program during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan Period, projects of the National Development and Reform Commission Operation Bureau and key issues of decision-making consultation in China Academy of Engineering, and completed more than 30 projects of enterprise cooperation. He has been successively selected into Tianjin's "Five Batch" Talents Program and Tianjin's “131” Innovative Talents Program. He has awarded the first prize of Science and Technology Progress of China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (2013 and 2015), Best Paper Award of International Conference on Behavior Operation Management (2016), Excellent Achievement Award of Tianjin’s Social Science (2017), the first batch of Young Pacesetter Award for Innovative Talents in Chinese Think Tanks (2018), and the first prize of “P.G. Logistics Award” in China Guanghua Foundation (2018). In addition, he has also been awarded the first-class award of excellent thesis at the China Logistics Academic Annual Meeting for many times.
