To advance the development of Tianjin University’s Emerging Engineering Education, promote and explore the applied technology of Molecular Spectroscopy, the Analysis and Testing Center of Tianjin University and Thermo Fisher Scientific recently reached a strategic cooperation agreement to establish the Molecular Spectroscopy Joint Application Laboratory.
The Signing and Unveiling Ceremony
Both parties signed the agreement and unveiled the plaque of the Lab.
"In a key period of the ‘Double first-class Initiative’, the Analysis and Testing Center of Tianjin University is willing to shoulder the responsibility of being a university-level platform, and a pioneer. By grasping discipline needs, coordinating with instrument manufacturers, we will give full play to the functional role of large-scale instruments and equipment and fill in the gap between analytical testing technology and disciplinary development. We will make the best of the platform to cooperate with Thermo Fisher Scientific, and better provide scientific conditions for our university and other colleges in Tianjin in order to achieve a ‘win-win situation’”, Cui Lan said.
In the afternoon, a symposium on molecular spectroscopy technology attracted hundreds of delegates from Tianjin University, Nankai University, Tianjin Polytechnic University, Tianjin University of Science and Technology, Tianjin Pharmaceutical Holdings Ltd. and other research institutes. Professor Shao Xueguang from Nankai University showed his research progress in the near-infrared spectrum. Professor Zhang Bing from Tianjin University introduced research in in-situ Raman spectroscopy through electrooxidation conversion synthesis. Three senior engineers from Thermo gave splendid lectures about the application of rheology and molecular spectroscopy in material science research, ultrafast Raman imaging technology and its application in the materials and chemical industry as well as the application of infrared spectroscopy in catalysis and materials.
The Molecular Spectroscopy Joint Application Laboratory is the first step. In future cooperative deployment, based on characteristic molecular spectroscopy applications of the Analysis and Testing Center of Tianjin University as well as advanced technology platform and service team of Thermo Fisher Scientific, platform sharing and resource sharing can be achieved, and technological strength of the center can also be further improved. The Center and Thermo Fisher Scientific will develop and explore together to provide high-quality technical support for the Construction of Emerging Engineering Education of Tianjin University.
Founded in 1982, the Analysis and Testing Center of Tianjin University is a platform for scientific research of large-scale analytical instruments. Guided by the idea of being user-oriented, the center has devoted itself to continually improving its service. Through unceasing development and exploration, it has become a comprehensive Testing Center with analytical testing, scientific research and technology development services. Thermo Fisher Scientific has been committed to providing customers with comprehensive solutions in materials science, with customer applications as the core, as well as providing integrated cross-disciplinary and cross-product line services.
