On December 16, Tianjin University unveiled plaques for five institutions including the Office of International Affairs for the Washington Accord Higher Education Evaluation Center of the Ministry of Education at the annual progress exchange meeting of the Emerging Engineering Education Research and Practice Project of Engineering Focused Universities.

Approximately 400 representatives attended the event, including relevant leaders and representatives from the Ministry of Education, Tianjin government, and engineering preponderance universities.

The five institutions Tianjin University established and unveiled the plaques of during the conference included the Office of International Affairs for the Washington Accord Higher Education Evaluation Center of the Ministry of Education, the Office of International Affairs for Washington Accord & Secretariat of China Engineering Education Accreditation Association, Tianjin Alliance of Emerging Engineering Education, Tianjin Institute for Emerging Engineering Education, and the Center of Emerging Engineering Education at Tianjin University.

The establishment of these five institutions will be devoted to strengthening international exchanges and cooperation in engineering education in China, comprehensively promoting the construction of first-class programs in engineering education, further promoting the accreditation of engineering education, and actively promoting the development of emerging engineering education of universities in Tianjin to serve the regional economic and social development of Tianjin. It will also improve the international influence of engineering education in China and contribute to building a strong country in higher education.

In the future, Tianjin University will rely on the research and practice projects of emerging engineering education to fully develop its advantages and strengthen resource allocation and support.

It aims to fully implement the spirit of the National Education Conference and implement the new era of national higher education.
