On December 30, Dong Mingzhu, Chairperson of the Board and President of Gree Electric Appliances Inc. of Zhuhai was appointed as an Adjunct Professor of Tianjin University. Mao Zhaofang, Deputy Director of the Tianjin University College of Management and Economics, presented the letter of appointment to Dong.
Mao Zhaofang said he hoped to see a closer relationship between Gree and Tianjin University and that Ms. Dong Mingzhu is an inspiration to students due to the experience of Gree’s management and practice she shared with the faculty and students, and that the complementary strengths of the two parties would result in the joint development of a world-class institution.
Dong Mingzhu emphasized that Gree’s development is closely related to industry-university-research institute cooperation, not only on professional techniques, but also in operation, management and innovation. Gree is now in a period of high-development and its international influence is getting stronger. She hoped through the cooperation with Tianjin University in multiple fields, “Made in China: Loved by the World” would progress farther.
Dong Mingzhu was the Deputy to the 10th, 11th and 12th National People’s Congresses, a Member of the Standing Committee of the China National Democratic Construction Association, a Member of the 10th Executive Committee of the All-China Women’s Federation, Member of the Committee of Experts for the 13th Five-Year Plan for the National Development and Reform Commission and Envoy of the UN Sustainable Urban Development Committee, among other appointments.
