Recently, Bill Moran, publisher of Science, led a delegation to visit Tianjin University. Li Jiajun, Party Secretary of Tianjin University, and Zhong Denghua, President of Tianjin University, met the delegation and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of cooperation with Science. Vice President Hu Wenping, and leaders from relevant offices also attended the signing ceremony.
Li Jiajun expressed his gratitude to the Science delegation for their support for the just concluded academic activities of Tianjin University including the Peiyang Nobel Prize Winners Symposium in which five Nobel laureates lectured. Mr. Moran responded that it’s a great honor for Science to be involved in such a great event of Tianjin University and also to feast on Chinese academia.
Zhong Denghua pointed out that Tianjin University had fruitful cooperation on numerous occasions with Science over the past five years in many fields from the publication of supplements to the holding of the international symposium. In addition, he hoped to promote bilateral cooperation at a higher level by virtue of the signing of the MoU which aims to further promote cooperation between the two sides including holding regular academic activities, providing guidance for students to publish their papers, and enhancing the university's international academic reputation.
Hu Wenping stressed that, in recent years, Tianjin University’s students have published a lot of high-quality academic papers. And during this year, many papers are expected to be published in Science.
Bill Moran said he was very pleased to visit Tianjin University again. He said, over the past five years, Science and Tianjin University have established a good cooperative partnership. This time, the symposium on The Future of Molecular and Human Technology held by Science and the School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology of Tianjin University was a great success, where the students could have close contact with international academic masters and acquire some enlightenment. In addition, he looked forward to further cooperation with Tianjin University including organizing various activities together and assisting teachers and students to publish their papers in Science and other journals or magazines.

The major focus of the journal is publishing important original scientific research and research reviews, as well as science-related news and opinions on science policy.
