Tianjin University Team Win the Huang Jiasi BME Award

Recently, Professor Ming Dong team's project “Complex Information Processing and Feedback Control in High-performance Brain-Computer Interface” won the Huang Jiasi Biomedical Engineering Award at the 2017 China Biomedical Engineering Conference and China Medical Innovation Summit which was held in Beijing.

The Huang Jiasi Biomedical Engineering (BME) Award is the highest science and technology award in biomedical engineering in China. The Huang Jiasi BME Award, named after academician and famous medical scientist Huang Jiasi, was established by the Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering (CSBE) in 2015. It is awarded every two years.

The Huang Jiasi BME Award focuses on cross disciplinary integration between biomedicine and engineering science to award outstanding achievements in fundamental research, technological invention, and scientific and technological progress. The award encourages locally based original innovation and research driven by clinical application.

Eight projects were awarded this year, whose leaders included Professor Cheng Jing, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor of Tsinghua University, Professor Yu Mengsun from the Aeromedicine Institute of the People's Liberation Army and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Professor Fan Yubo from Beihang University, among others. The awards included one for fundamental research, five for technological invention, and two for scientific and technological progress.
