Four students from the Tianjin University Dragon Boat Team were recently selected to join the Tianjin Team to represent Tianjin in the National Games of China.

The four students are: Wang He, an undergraduate of 2015 (now a sophomore student) from the School of Civil Engineering, Suolang Danzeng, an undergraduate of 2014 (now a junior student) from the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Guli Mila, an undergraduate of 2015 from the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, and Cao Danqiong, an undergraduate of 2015 from the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology.

The Tianjin team for the Dragon Boat events consists of a men’s team and a women’s team, each of which is composed of 26 members. All the members are selected from ten universities in Tianjin as well as the Tianjin Fire Corps, totaling over 500 applicants. The selection took one month including physical ability testing and a qualification examination. The Chief Coach of the National Dragon Boat Team of the Philippines was invited to train the Tianjin Dragon Boat Team.
