Canteen Cooks in Home-style Cooking Contest

Recently, a home-style cooking contest was held at Tianjin University among the cooks from the canteens from both the Weijin Road Campus and Peiyang Park Campus. Over 40 cooks entered the event.

The contest was in two parts: knife skills and cooking skills. Participants selected from each canteen were divided into ten groups. In the first knife work part the contestants were asked to cut potatoes into shreds, chips, and dice displaying their consummate skills and high artistry. In the cooking part of the contest, all the contestants cooked their favorite mouthwatering dishes. With on-site appraisal by the judges, the top three individuals and the top three groups were selected and awarded prizes.
