An Agreement Signed with Sino-EU Medical Innovation and Cooperation Organization

On June 14, Tianjin University’s Institute of Medical Engineering and Translational Medicine (IMETM) signed the "Sino-Dutch Health Science and Technology Cooperation Framework Agreement" with the (Holland) Sino-EU Medical Innovation and Cooperation Organization (SEMICO) in the Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center. Zhang Biao, Director of the IMETM, and Professor Qu Ning, Executive President of the SEMICO signed the agreement.

SEMICO is a semi-governmental and nonprofit organization that aims to promote high-tech R&D and innovation in the field of health care in Central Europe. The organization, headquartered in the University of Groningen in Holland, has been influential in the latest European life science and biomedical projects. In the future, it will focus on cooperation with China in the field of health care, introducing to China European advanced biomedical innovation systems, an industrial transformation model, and a hospital management and personnel training model.

According to the agreement, the two sides resolved to establish a long-term strategic cooperative partnership. The two sides reached consensuses on building a Joint Lab, cultivating and introducing excellent personnel, and further strengthening mutual cooperation.
