“Clean, bright, and attention to all the details. In such an environment I can quickly adapt myself to interview mode, also there is no need to worry someone might interrupt.” said Cheng Ruonan, smiling while walking out of an interview room at Tianjin University (TJU). She is a graduate of 2023 from the School of Education.

There is an increasingly demand for online job interview recently, also it has become a main recruitment approach, for it can be conducted remotely, efficiently and safely in the era of pandemic. However, many graduates seem a little fretful due to the absence of quiet and neat places for such interviews.

To get the problem solved, TJU took practical measures to alter some of its consultation rooms, offices and library reading rooms into quiet and comfortable places for online interview, which are available for all graduates to reserve. What’s more, auxiliary equipment like tripod and LED fill light are all in position to optimize interview experience.

“It is our goal to better satisfy student’ various demands on job seeking. Although on-campus recruitment is affected by the pandemic, we will try our best to improve communication between enterprises and students. We will provide services more actively and more precisely, deliver tangible convenience to graduates, so as to ensure their final stages to get satisfying jobs.” said Liu Fenglin, director of TJU Career Services Center.

It is reported that all schools and institutes of TJU echo the initiative by renovating their meeting rooms and offices. As of today, a total of 27 rooms for online interview are ready for use, and online appointment platform will be launched in the middle of this month. With all these efforts, TJU provide substantial assistance in helping more graduates get satisfactory jobs.
